"Leona made mosaics with my daughter and six of her friends for her birthday party. She brought along a gorgeous variety of tiles, and wooden plaques to mount them on, and set everything up very smoothly and efficiently. We felt that seven lively girls were in very safe hands and that we could relax and get on with organising the food etc. Leona was clear and encouraging in her instructions to the kids and had a great sense of humour. The girls all thoroughly enjoyed it and it was nice to be able to send them home with a lovely mosaic." Sara. Children's Birthday Party, North London.
"The children and families loved the craft workshop Artists Resource created to launch Globe Playground at Shakespears Globe Theatre. Leona was warm and patient with the budding artists. She fully integrated all the elements we asked for into a perfectly paced session. The children were encouraged to try a range of different activities. At the end the mess disappeared without a trace.. or us lifting a finger! We look forward to working with Artists Resource again." H. Ray, Shakespeare's Globe, Children's Workshops, Central London
Mandala Making Art Class
Saturday 28th February 2015
1.30pm to 5.30pm (including 30 mins break from 3.30pm to 4pm)
North Bank, Pages Lane, Muswell Hill, N10 1PP
Come and Make a beautiful Mandala for you to keep and display in your home, or to give as a gift to someone special. Mandalas are magical artworks that evolve from the centre of the artwork and continue outwards to form a circle. You will draw your Mandala in pencil first and then paint it. You will be given lots of reference images to look at, to help you decide what theme your mandala will have. Or simply choose 'elements' from different images that you like, to include in your design as it naturally evolves. You can even directly copy one if you wish.
The process is relaxing and transformative, as you see the mandala take shape over the workshop. It's so wonderful to see your vision gradually appear before your eyes! Forget all your concerns for a whole afternoon and focus on making something for your home (or as a gift!). You will be taught in a creative and supportive environment with plenty of inspiration throughout.
Make a Mandala for yourself or bring a friend/partner and make one together. It could even be a great Birthday or Valentine's Day gift! Myself and a client made a mandala together last week(Jan 2015). We took turns adding elements to the design. It was truly a special experience. Its that workshop that's inspired me to bring it to you - I have a feeling you're going to love it too.
The workshop is 3 and a half hours and is £45 per person. Or £40 per person if you book 2 people at the same time.
For this you will receive:
- lots of visual resources to help with your design
- 3 and a half hours of inspiration, encouragement and support.
- a choice between a canvas square (that you can frame afterwards), tote bag or cushion cover, to paint your mandala onto
- unlimited use of Fabric Paints and
- as much tea and chocolate biscuits as you wish :)
