How to Grout – Instructions
You will need:
1- Tile Grout in mid grey (amount depends on your piece)
2- Disposable container to mix your grout in
3- Something disposable to mix your grout with eg. wooden spoon
4- Container of water (amount depends on your piece)
5- Scraper or old credit card/library card
6- Disposable gloves (optional)
7- Square sponge
8- Bowl of water
9- Outside drain to pour away your used water – do not pour used water down your kitchen sink as it will block the drains.
10- Plastic bag to dispose of everything.
11- Newspapers or Tarpaulin to cover surfaces and floor where required.
12- Fairy liquid and furniture polish (optional).
Method:
1- Mix your grout in the Disposable container, adding water gradually until the consistency is like room temperate butter or cake mix.
2- Spread the grout all over the piece
3- Push grout into the gaps with scraper and make sure all gaps are filled. Do the edges too.
4- Scrape any excess grout off into the container.
5- Use the sponge to wipe off the excess grout, rinsing it it water after EVERY wipe. Change the water regularly. Dont pour excess grout into sink, scrape into plastic bag.
6- When most of the grout has been wiped from the surface of the tiles, make up some clean, warm soapy water and do a final wipe across the piece. This will restore the shine of the tiles
7- Leave for 12 hours to cure and polish with furniture polish if you like.
8- Wash your scraper in the warm water.
9- Dispose of everything else in the plastic bag.

In this lesson you will learn the skill of Mosaicing! There are 2 videos in this Lesson – one for Mosaicing the Star Coaster and the other for Mosaicing the Heart Coaster. I’ll give you all my tips and skills from being a professional Mosaic Artist over the past 10 years.
Lesson 4 – Grouting
(30 minutes)
And finally in this lesson, you’ll learn the skill of Grouting.
How does it work?
This Online Art Course is designed for you to follow along with me and watch in REAL TIME. This means that both you and I will make our Mosaic Coasters, together, at the same time! You are guided gently and slowly throughout the process and I give many tips and suggestions to help you learn new skills along the way. There are MULTIPLE CAMERAS for you to see the Coasters from, to help you see clearly from different angels. You are very welcome to pause the videos whenever you need to, to practice and to go over steps that you are unsure of, or simply need more time with.
